On Saturday I attended the Bay Area Chapter of the Peace Alliance’s meeting in Marin County, at which they honored Restorative Resources with the North Bay Peace Builder’s Award.
The award is given in recognition of the work of our staff, board, and volunteers . As described in the Certificate of Recognition from California State Senator Mark Leno, our ”tireless efforts to bring innovative and effective change in the response to crisis and conflict in your community, has been a gift to the people who live there. Your work has helped restore a greater sense of justice.”
I felt very honored to receive this award on behalf of our organization, and all those community members over the years who helped to introduce restorative justice to Sonoma County and bring to it the recognition and respect that it deserves. Congratulations to all of you!
A special thanks to the Peace Alliance. It is so encouraging in these times to be recognized in this way for our work.
