Vermont has one of the longest-running restorative justice initiatives in the U.S. Two bits of information: @krisminer tweeted a link to this article this morning. And I was looking into the “community boards” model of restorative justice last week; here’s a brief pdf describing that approach, with some solid advice about implementing it, based on years of experience.
We’ve also published our very impressive outcome data from here in Sonoma County. A couple of reports are on our website.
Sadly, the successes of Restorative Justice don’t always add up to continued funding, particularly in these times, as has been the experience of the Collaborative Justice Program in Ottowa. (thanks again to Kris Miner, @krisminer).
